Sylvain Lavigne (vocals, guitars, bass, samples) and Martin Desjardins (drums) are A PLOT AGAINST ME. Sly and Mart have been friends since 1994, they formed a first band in the weeks that followed their initial meeting. From 1996 to 2003, they have played in multiple projects (endensa and LEFKINencoded, naked spoon respectively). In late 2003, Sly and Martin decided to start something fresh by combining their experience in writing and recording and formed A PLOT AGAINST ME, a band whose sound is now described as dirty-ambient-rock. During 2 ^1/2 days in April 2004, the band recorded and produced a 4 song EP on which fans can finally hear Grinding Teeth, Dirty Pussy, DrugMeLoveMe and Failure (I am a). In October 2004, they recorded All Your Own with Producer/Engineer Shawn Bradley (Scott Weiland, Mellowdrone). Two days later, the single was on the radio and on the next day, the band had signed on to complete a 5 song EP with Bradley at Redline Pro Audio due for a November 2004 release. The band writes all the songs: Sly and Mart's creativity is perfectly blended with their different influences that are signature to a tight, powerfully driven and unique sound. A Plot Against Me's music is about respecting moods in songs that just stick to you, anthems for the overworked and paranoid, with ambient vocals (and insane screams) over dirty/driving guitars and groovy heavy drums and bass.
