URGENT FORM OF ROCK

A Plot Against Me has unleashed their brash, dirty and urgent form of rock onto the world with the release of their debut album Who do you work for, why do you do it? The 10-song disc relies heavily on distorted electric guitar and hard-hitting drums to convey the message that rock and roll is alive and well in Canada. Some songs, such as Grinding Teeth and Audiofield may make you want to double check your CD player to make sure the Queens of the Stone Age didnt in fact sneak in there. However, with tracks such as Sell Me Another Soul, Mugshot and IThinkThereisaPlotFormingAgainstMe, they deliver a fairly original, inspired and hard-hitting brand of post-grunge rock. The band is really propelled by lead singer Sly's pained hush to scream vocal tactics, which is what makes this CD a great listen.
